Homework Priorities: How To Prioritize Your Homework

When it comes to doing homework as a student, we should also learn how to prioritize and be organized. Aside from being a student, if you are an employee or even a boss, you also have your own homework. Now, how can you become effective in doing your homework either as a student or as an employee? I know that each of us has our own way to do our homework and that will depend to our comfort and convenience. But base on general ideas about homework priorities, it will be more effective if you deal with the difficult or challenging homework first. Difficult or challenging homework would require time, patience, thinking, and effort.

110 Homework Priorities

So, I would say that you should prioritize the subject that you are having hard time. Never mind those easy subjects because you can easily finish them without getting stress. Aside from the difficult homework, second factor is you need to do the homework that requires a lot of work. It may be easy but if it requires a lot of work, this could take your time and if you do not know how to manage your time, you will end up messing up everything and you may not have enough time to rest because you are stock with that specific homework. And worse, you may not reach or hit the deadline. I know that doing homework is an additional job and stress. But homework cannot be avoided sometimes. But the good thing about homework is it keeps that data and system updated if you are working for a business company. In a student point of view, homework is an additional tasks that would help the student review what they have discuss during that day and also will help the teacher assess the student. Through their homework, the teacher could see which among them understand the lesson and which of them do not.

Homework plays a big part in helping the student and the employee develop their knowledge about their lesson and their job. Most of the homework are research papers and problem solving. Another factor, when you reach home, before you do anything like playing your video games or watching your favorite TV show, I would suggest that you do your homework first. By this, you will have enough time to finish your homework because you are still active. Because if you do your homework after dinner, you might not be able to finish it because you already feel sleepy.

Tips For College Students’ Way Out Of Stress

074 College LifeWith all the academic papers, exams, assignments, reports, deadlines, and all the other activities in school that requires too much effort, time, and attention, one cannot avoid all the stress that comes with these things. The stressors of college students does not just include these things, some stressors of some students will also include studying away from home and living on their own. Stress can be a hassle and can be pretty much destructive. Headaches, stomach and back pains, sleeping problems, and other illnesses can be effects of too much stress. One who has too much stress to handle can also feel fatigue all the time and depression.

According to some people, stress is normal and just a part of being in college. However, it has to be at a minimum level, not too overwhelming that it gives negative effects such as bad grades, lower concentration, depression, and poor health to the student.

Stress, because it is a part of college life, is unavoidable. One who had already graduated can say that with the years he or she had spent in college, he or she had absolutely experienced feeling stressed be it because of an upcoming exam or be it because of a pile of academic papers that should be submitted all at once. But despite of it being unavoidable, it is not uncontrollable. In order to cope up and reduce stress, here are some tips that should be kept in mind.

Stay healthy

It can sometimes be hard to keep up with everything that comes with college and at the same time keep a healthy mind and body. When you are stressed, it does not just affect your mental fitness, or just your physical fitness, it affects everything. Some students, in order to cope up with stress, smokes, drinks a lot of alcoholic beverages, drugs, overeats or eat a little to nothing, sleeps a lot, and procrastinates. Stress can also affect a person’s relationship with others because some copes up with stress by taking it all out to people and by withdrawing from activities that should be spent with friends, families, and other people. These are unhealthy ways of coping up. It is unhealthy for your body as well as for your emotional and mental well-being. In order to stay healthy, you should eat healthy foods, get enough sleep and rest, drink plenty of water, and exercise. It may be hard to balance and manage your time, but take time to relax yourself. Try meditating or get a hobby that will make you feel relaxed and enjoyed. Also socializing with people can also be a way of reducing stress. However, avoid people that stress you out. Talking with a trusted friend or a family member can help you express what you are feeling, making you feel somehow relieved and helping you cope up with stress.

Keep a positive attitude, smile and laugh a lot, and look for something that will make you happy

Like what they have said, attitude is everything. One can say that a glass with water is half empty or half full. A person who is a positive thinker would say that it is half full. One should always keep that kind of attitude. Negative thinking always brings worries and sometimes sadness, which will also bring more stress.

Smiling and laughing a lot fights stress. Every time a person smiles or laughs, his or her body releases a natural pain killer called endorphins. Endorphins are neurotransmitters that are responsible for making a person feel happiness. Thus, it also reduces stress.

Do not be too aggressive

Because of stress, some students feel irritable, defensive, and passive. They easily get angry and upset. Instead of being aggressive and letting this emotions control you, why not try to be assertive? Assert what you are feeling and express them in a nice way.

Stress can be everywhere. It can affect you, but you can find ways to reduce it, cope up with it, and control it. Do not let stress control you and stop you from having an enjoyable and stress free college life.

Careers and opportunities were built there. But, before you enjoy the laurels of your success you will need to face different challenges that will test how strong, determined and persistent you are. Here are some tips that might help you experience an enjoyable and fruitful college life.

046 College Life

One of the most crucial parts of being in college is time management. College is way too different than high school. Subjects were more difficult, papers and works are piling up. Your time will be eaten up those works and if you mismanaged it, you will end up having a boring or no social life.

So to the students and upcoming students, here are some tips on how to manage your time.

Make a plan. Planning is very important it allows you to calculate and assign tasks. Through planning you will be able to know your priorities, what tasks is important and what works need to be done first. Make your own schedule. Aside the class schedule, it is necessary for you to make a schedule for your free or vacant hours. Take note that your top priorities are assignments, projects and studying. The usual problem encountered by students in planning and scheduling is the fact they forgot their own schedules and plans. In order for you not to forget important works, write them on sticky note or electronic calendars or you may try to use planner which will serve as your guide.

Focus. Learn to focus on your priorities. If you are focused with your goal you will certainly meet them. Same with time management, if you are really focused and determined you will be able to manage your time. If you are working on multiple tasks, do it one by one. Evaluate which tasks are more important and urgent, sometimes it will also help if you start to work on the most difficult tasks and work later on the simpler one.

Of course life is not life without enjoying it. From time to time you also need to socialize with other people. Socialization here does not just include meet and greet with people. It includes having fun and doing some activities. The best times to relax are weekends, wherein you do not have to worry for assignments, projects, exams or being late in school. Sports, shopping, watching movies and hanging out with friends are one of the ways you can enjoy college life.

Tips On How To Survive College

Time passes us by in a swift motion. Sometimes it also takes us time to realize that time already passed us by. Another day over means we are a day older, and then a month, and then a year. And then there is college.

193 College Life

Most of us have their set of expectations of their own university life. Some are excited while others feel butterflies in their stomachs because of nervousness. Others would also feel anxious on how they will be able to survive college. In order to do so, here are some tips for survival.

Choose what you want and love what you have chosen

Choosing a course is the first big decision one must make in college. It can be challenging for others or not at all for those who have already made a decision long before they are forced to make one. Some would want to be a doctor in the future, or perhaps a lawyer, a business man, or maybe a pilot, while some doesn’t have any idea at all on what course to take.

When it confuses you on what course to take for college, you must look deep inside yourself. Ask yourself questions such as: How do I see myself in the future? What is it that I really want? What are my strengths, my core competency that I can use throughout and after this phase of my life?

List the courses that you think you want and you think are fitted for you. Narrow it down, and choose what you think is best and you are most interested to. Choosing is not the end though. You must continue to love what you have chosen. Stick to your decision.

Academics and extracurricular activities

College is not just about studying and grades. Of course, in order to graduate on time and with flying colors, one must study hard. Grades are still the key for graduating. However, nothing beats experience. Why not try to learn new things outside of the walls of the classroom? Join extracurricular activities such as sports, sing in the university choir, or be the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper? Other than being excellent in the academics, try being a well-rounded person and experience the world outside the classroom. It can help you gain characteristics like being more of a leader, or a committed, passionate, responsible person.

Socialize and Make friends

What better way to enjoy most of our college life than with our own set of friends? Try not to surround yourself with just books. Sometimes, the best college memories that we have are memories we have with the people we care of and cares for us. Friends can be our support group or can be our study buddies.

However, you should also not just keep yourself within your circle of friends, meet other people. Make connections. They can be your own set of network in the future.

Love yourself

We all know that along with college come stress and more stress. However, find time to relax. Manage your time well by keeping a schedule of your activities. Balance your time for academics, extracurricular, socialization, and of course, time for yourself. Do not deprive yourself of sleep and eat on time. While your grades might be flying in colors, your health is still more important.

How Stress Affects Diets In College

113 Diets in collegeCollege is probably the most stressful phase in a student’s life. Changes in environment, as well as academic and social pressures create high levels of stress in students. Furthermore, stress created by changes in environment affects diets in college.

For many, this is the first time that they will be living alone, far from their families. They are removed from their comfort zone, thus, creating stress. When this happens, they will be looking for other things in their environment that could give them comfort and food will be one of those things. Food is one of people’s basic needs and when people are in a new environment, in order to survive, they make sure that they have this basic need. What happens with students who are living in the dormitories is that they tend to have more than enough food stored inside their rooms. And because they are far away from home, far from their parents who constantly controls the food that they eat, they now have the freedom to choose whatever and whenever they want to eat. This leads to consumption of junk foods, food from fast food chains, and other unhealthy food.

Academic pressure also affects diets in college. Because of high academic load, college students tend to stay late at night and coffee is that one drink that could keep them awake. Other students who do not drink coffee learns how to, because they need to. Coffee contains caffeine and overconsumption of it could lead to some serious sleeping problems. Aside from drinking coffee, they tend to have midnight snacks. More often than not, these midnight snacks are high in sugar and cholesterol – food contents that will just be stored inside the body if not turned into energy. After eating, they will just sit and study and would later sleep.

Other than individual assignments, college students are often given a lot of group projects and activities. Among the places that could give them enough space to do their group works are coffee shops and fast food chains. These places offer convenience (since they are usually open for 24 hours) and enough space for large gatherings. However, the foods that these places offer are also mostly unhealthy.

Not only does stress affects eating behavior, diets in college could also cause additional stress in students. People in college are usually teenagers and they give much importance to physical appearance. However, because of stress, they tend to lose control in eating. Uncontrolled and unhealthy diets in college could result to weight gain, which could further trigger insecurities, thus creating additional stress to the individual. Weight gain would cause insecurities and affects the self-esteem of the individual and could later cause eating disorders. Studies have shown that people in college are more prone to develop eating disorders because of the stressful environment. However, when surrounded with the right people, one could have more emotional control and better control over their eating behavior.

Applying Speed Reading With Comprehension

035 How to Speed ReadNot everyone can read fast. Only those people who have a passion for reading can usually do so. If you read regularly, you might develop the skills of speed reading. Do know that most rappers are practicing their rap verse through reading? Ask any rappers about the first step to learn how to rap, they will tell you to learn how to read. If you know how to read, then you will eventually learn how to rap. But speed reading is different from rapping. But speed reading is useless without comprehension involved. When you read, you need to be sure that you understand what you are reading. It’s easier to do speed reading but it’s harder to do speed reading with comprehension. Now, the question would be – how to speed read?

Read Out Loud

When you are reading try to read out loud, when you read out loud, you will be able to hear yourself and you will hear if you are reading and pronouncing the word correctly. When you read out loud, try to increase your speed. But make sure that you were able to pronounce the words correctly and you can be understood by your hearers. Speed reading is useless if only you who can understand yourself. Speed reading is important because reading is an important part of our learning.

Practice Reading Everyday With Time

I’m sure that you have heard how a 6 or 7 year old child reads. But did you know that there are high school student who read just like them? These are the student who doesn’t give time to practice their reading. Practice helps you develop a skill. So if you want to develop your skill in speed reading, try to practice every day. If you want to have fun, try timing yourself so you would know how fast you read.

Learn How To Pronounce The Words Correctly

Another factor like I mention earlier is learning how to pronounce the word by syllables. If you want to be understood, it’s important that you pronounce the word correctly. Wrong pronunciation will also result to confusion on what you are saying.

Watch Your Pace

Last, know the pacing when you read. Learn when to stop, when to pause, and when to start a new sentence. Also learn how to use the punctuations like the comas and the periods. These are indicators to end the sentence or to pause.

If you haven’t done these before, I challenge you to do these things and you will see that you will improve when it comes to speed reading.

Tips About Dating In College

For college students, dating has already been a part of their lives. Meeting new people each year is just common. Sometimes, you just cannot avoid getting attracted to someone in your class or around the campus. Dating in college is quite discouraging for some students as most college students are very busy with their studies and do not have much time for going out for a date. That is because most college students try their best to come up with higher grades in order to have good academic records which will provide them with an edge when they graduate and hunt for a job.

035 Dating In College

Dating is known to be a part of people’s lives. As a person grows up, he or she will surely meet someone whom will make him or her fall in love. But, how will you be able to let the person know how you feel and convince him or her to go out with you on a date? For college students who want to invite their classmate or schoolmate on a date, here are a few tips that you should keep in mind which may greatly help you convince the person you want to invite for a date to accept your invitation and will even let you convince him or her to go out on a date with you again.

First of all, you need to be who you are; just be yourself. Do not be pretentious as it may just make your date be turned off. Do not be afraid to tell the person about what you feel. Of course, you need to be kind and be polite when asking the person for a date. Make him or her feel that he or she is safe with you. Respect is also a vital key if you want the person to feel at ease with you, so treat the other person with respect. If he or she declines on your first invitation, then do not give up that easily. Show him or her that you are really eager to go out with him or her on a date by inviting him or her after a few days. It is also helpful if you can settle on having a group date for the meantime because inviting the other person to a one on one date might put some pressure on him or her.

Being thoughtful is also a key when it comes to making the other person get interested to you. Give him or her gifts that she would cherish. Of course, for you to be able to do that, you first need to try to know more about the person’s interests. Knowing more about your common interests will make it easier for you to find the most appropriate gift as well as will make it easier for you to convince her to go out with you on a date. Try to talk about your studies and your interests. Best of all you should keep in mind to make every second you are together with to be very romantic and worth remembering.

Homework Priorities: Tips For Students

116 Homework PrioritiesHomework could be one of the most hated tasks whether you are already working or a student. One of the reasons is because it affects your other appointments because you have to finish it before the deadline. But I will be focusing more on students since they are the ones who normally encounter homework compared to working people. If you are a student, do you notice that almost every day your teacher will always give you homework to work on while you are at home? Why do you think your teacher gives you homework? One of the factors is for the teacher to know or asses the student if he or she understands the lesson they have discussed. Another factor is to let the student practice their analytic skills. But one of the common concern of most student is they have more than one subjects. What if there is more homework given to them? There are some students who are having hard time prioritizing which homework to do first.

To answer that issue, it’s actually not that hard to prioritize homework. It depends on how organize the student is. Here are my tips on homework priorities that works for me and I hope it’ll work on your too. First tip, you need to do the homework that you are having hard time understanding because that will require you a lot time to do it. Each of us has our own weaknesses and there is always one subject that we don’t like but we have no choice but to learn it. So, whatever subject that will be, you need to prioritize that, it could be Math, Science, English, and History. These four are the tough subject that most students are having hard time learning it. Second tip, you need to choose the homework that requires lot of things to do like term paper and research. Third, you need to proceed to the second subject that you also find difficult to understand. Don’t worry about the subject that you find easy because you won’t have hard time doing it anyways. So what I’m trying to imply here is you need to go from the most difficult subject to the easiest of all.

But not all method maybe applicable to everybody, there are students who would prefer the other way around where they would start to easiest and put the hardest at the last.

Homework Priorities: How To Choose Which Homework To Prioritize

Whether you are working or a student, there will be a time that we will have some homework to work on. I’ll just focus on a students’ part since they encounter homework more often compared to those working people. If you are a student, almost every day, one of your teachers will give you some homework to work on while you are at home. Homework is given by the teachers to know if the students understand the lesson they have just discussed. Another reason is to let the student practice their analytic skills. But what if there are more than just homework given to you by your teachers? Like you have homework in different subjects, which homework would you prioritize? This situation is a very common scenario for students and some of them are having a hard time which home work to prioritize. If you have homework, you need to cancel whatever appointment you have with your friends so you will have enough time to finish your homework. Before you play or hang-out with your friends, make sure that you already did your homework. Now to answer the questions above, here are some of the tips that I could suggest on how to prioritize your homework.

087 Homework Priorities

To make things easier and simpler for you, the homework that you need to do first is the subject that you are having hard time coping. Of course each of us has our weaknesses and there is always one subject that we don’t like but we don’t have a choice but to learn it. So, whatever subject will that be, try to prioritize that first, it could be Math, English, Science, and History. Another tip is you need to do the homework that requires lots of things to do like research and term paper. Research may require you time and internet connection to search for information that you need for the topic. It may also require you to go to some public library and look for a specific authors and books. Since this is the subject that you are having difficulty coping up, then you need to spend more time so you can catch up and understand your lessons. After which, you need to do the second subject that you are also having difficulty, meaning that when you do your homework, you need to start from the difficult subject to the easiest one. Subjects that you find easy doesn’t need much time since you already know how to do or answer the homework, so this will not require you more time just to finish it.

But this method may not be applicable to everybody. Each of us has our own techniques and ways on how to prioritize our homework. There people that I know of that they prefer to start from the easy homework then do the hard one at the last. One of the reasons they gave is that, they will not be worry if they send more time to subject where they are having difficulty as long as they are already done with other homework. So, even if they stay up late its okay because once they are done, that’s the end of it. They could now take their rest and be prepared for the next day’s class.

Now you have heard two methods on homework priorities, you could choose whichever you think is more convenient for you. But in case you have your own method to make things easier, then stick to that since you already know how to manage your time and how to pace yourself. That will be less of a hassle and stressful on your part.
